How to use

  1. Choose your cover type. Pick third-party only, comprehensive, or comprehensive with zero-depreciation. Comprehensive covers your own car too; the tool compares them.
  2. Enter your IDV and vehicle age. Add your car's Insured Declared Value and how old it is. A higher IDV raises the Own Damage premium.
  3. Set city and No Claim Bonus. Choose your city tier and NCB. A higher NCB (up to 50%) meaningfully lowers your premium.
  4. Review your estimate. See your estimated annual premium, the typical range, and each factor's contribution.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a real car insurance quote?

No. It is an educational estimate based on published Indian averages and standard rating factors. Real prices depend on your insurer, engine capacity, add-ons and city, so get quotes for exact figures.

What is IDV?

Insured Declared Value is the current market value of your car set at policy start. It is the maximum payout for total loss or theft, and it drives the Own Damage portion of a comprehensive premium.

Is third-party insurance mandatory?

Yes. Third-party motor insurance is mandatory in India under the Motor Vehicles Act, and its premium is fixed by IRDAI based on engine capacity. Comprehensive cover adds Own Damage on top.

How does No Claim Bonus work?

Each claim-free year builds a No Claim Bonus, up to 50% after five years, which is a discount on the Own Damage premium. Making a claim resets it.

Do the rates stay accurate?

Premiums and IRDAI TP rates change over time, so each estimate shows its data vintage. The rating structure is more stable.

Is my information private?

Yes. Everything runs locally in your browser with no upload, no storage and no sign-up.
