Frequently asked questions
Is this PDF editor free?
Yes, it is completely free. You can edit as many PDFs as you like with no account, sign-up, payment, or watermark.
Are my PDFs uploaded to a server?
No. Your PDF is edited entirely in your browser and never leaves your device, so it stays private even for confidential files.
Does editing change the original document?
It adds an annotation layer on top of your PDF, so your text, drawings, highlights, and whiteout are placed over the page and then flattened into a new PDF when you download. The original page content underneath is left in place unless you cover it with whiteout.
Can I edit the existing text in the PDF?
Not directly. This is an annotation editor, not a word processor, so it does not reflow or retype the PDF's original embedded text. To change existing text, cover the old text with whiteout and add a new text box on top with the corrected wording.
What file types does it work with?
It works with PDF files. You open a PDF, add your annotations, and download an edited PDF in return.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. It runs in your mobile browser, so you can add text, draw, and position elements from a phone or tablet.
